Introduction
Not all of us are equally blessed in life. We all are in rush to gain success, optimum results in life and get the best out of all but some people living under the same sky sharing the same ground do not even have the slightest of hint what success is or even what life is. They are just living the life more profoundly without any knowledge of what next or what now. They are intellectually disabled people of Nepal.
These people have no idea what life is and fortunately or unfortunately they don’t have to bother about all the stress and ideals of life. They have world of their own but world of ours, the so called normal human being, is more treacherous than theirs. Our world has many times power to encroach theirs. We have to protect them from the dangers. They are definitely differently-able people but the society where we live in view them as a burden as a sin of previous life and the organization like ours has to come up and take a stand against such view. We, Association of Intellectual Disability Nepal (AID Nepal), are working for the improvement and treatment of such disable people for the betterment of their lives. AID Nepal main motto is to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disability by providing education, healthcare and empowerment.
We have been to varied countries to study different cases and also inside Nepal we have reached several places to observe the situations. After these studies and observations we came up with this support system to help them. The situations of intellectual disable people of Nepal are much more pitiful than the country we visited. People are less aware and more ignorant here. In order to bring improvement in the situation, our team took an initiative by establishing the organization with such objectives.
The main goals of this association is to make able citizen of the nation by protecting basic right and developing inherent talent vested in the person with all forms of intellectual disability., then to provide them with accessible facility and obstacle free environment favorable to lead just, respected and independent survival by developing the persons with disability in financial and social forms, to do hand to hand in coordination and cooperation among the partners of government, non-government and to extend empowerment, livelihood earning.
